My Go-To Healthy Snacks!

Well hey there! I can already tell this is going to be my all time favorite post because there are two things I really suck at–finding time to make food and actually being able to make it.

Being a college student (& just an all around busy lil spazz who can’t cook to save her life + isn’t patient enough to wait for food to be done) you can bet I live on snacks. But not just any snacks…they have to be substantial enough to get me through three hours of working out + 4 hours of class a day AND taste amazing so I’m not hating my life.

Without further ado, here are my current favorite healthy snacks:

Laura’s Wholesome Junk Food: Oatmeal Raison Bites

like woah…not sure how the heck she made these so sweet & filling with almost 100% all whole, natural foods but SHE DID IT! These have been a staple of mine recently for on the go breakfast or road trips back home.

where can I get em’?: Harris Teeter

Enjoy Life: Sunseed Butter Protein Chocolate Bites

I gotta confession to make…(I have a huge addiction to chocolate, like I can’t even go one day without having it after breakfast AND dinner). Ya girl ain’t satisfied with those fake chocolate protein bars or granola bars that have .246 cm of chocolate drizzled on top labeled “chocoholics healthy granola bar”. No. But these bad boys taste like actual chocolate truffles! They come in a pack of 4 but I usually can only eat 2 because of how rich they are. Perfect to satisfy those unhealthy mid-day cravings.

where can I get em’?: Trader Joes

Quaker: Caramel Rice Cakes

These babies have been in my top fav healthy(ish) snacks for quite some time now, and I honestly don’t think they are goin’ anywhere. I throw them in my bag and eat them before I teach as a quick carb. They have so many flavors which are all good, but caramel is my all-time fav. Switch out your chips and pretzels for this low cal snack!

where can I get em’?: Walmart, Harris Teeter, or most grocery stores!

Bananas

Going to finish off this list with a whole food you can truly never go wrong with! If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would honestly be bananas (must be a monkey, I eat 2-5 a day yikes!) But seriously, they are rich in potassium and fiber which helps muscles contract and nerve cells respond more quickly (why they are good for cramps). Plus they are easy to throw in your bag or throw in the freezer for future smoothies!

where can I get em’?: haha ur funny

Have an amazing week & spread smiles,

Rachel

Hello, Rachel, thanks for linking me to your blog. I too like the Wholesome Junk Food snacks, and the Quaker bites…I thought I was the only person who actually liked puffed-rice or puffed-corn crackers! Your blog is on point. Looking forward to one day reading posts on the “Travel” page. As you may know, I am an avid traveler, have been since I was in my early 20s and dropped out of college for a year to hobo around Europe.
